Juba Foundation commemorated International Women’s Day with an inspiring event under the theme “Give to Gain,” bringing together 80 participants (60 women and 20 men) from various sectors to celebrate and strengthen the role of women in peacebuilding and community development.
The celebration highlighted women-led peace initiatives through a series of panel discussions, motivational speeches, exhibitions, and cultural performances. These activities created a dynamic space for dialogue, learning, and collaboration among participants.
The event aimed to enhance women’s public participation, strengthen solidarity among women leaders, and inspire collective advocacy for gender equality and inclusive decision-making.
Participants included representatives from relevant government ministries, the Benadir Regional Administration (BRA), women’s associations, community leaders, women leaders in the private sector, academia, and social mobilizers. Through interactive discussions, participants shared experiences and addressed key challenges facing women in leadership and community engagement.
The event concluded with a strong commitment from participants to promote social resilience and foster peaceful communities through increased women’s participation, contributing to a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
