Forced eviction is not just the loss of shelter—it’s the loss of safety, identity, and future. In Bardheere, Juba Foundation made sure that didn’t happen to 552 people in 2024.
Our legal aid program, under the Danwadaag Consortium, activated a network of paralegals, community dispute resolution teams, and municipal allies to intervene before evictions occurred. Through negotiation and legal counseling, families were granted time, alternatives, and most importantly—justice.
We also trained 70 key stakeholders in managing land conflicts and broadcast legal awareness messages to nearly 3,000 residents. These aren’t just services—they are systemic safeguards that reduce harm and build trust.
For our partners and donors, this is proof that investing in legal protection has far-reaching effects: it keeps families together, stabilizes communities, and strengthens human rights.
