When the floods came, they didn’t just take homes—they took stability. When conflict flared, it didn’t just push people from their villages—it pushed them into a daily fight for survival.
That’s why, in partnership with ShelterBox and CDC, Juba Foundation responded swiftly in 2024 with a combination of 500 emergency shelters, 200 mudbrick houses, and 1,000 emergency kits across Baidoa, Beletweyne, and Jowhar—benefiting over 4,200 people, the majority being women and children.
These weren’t just tents and tarps—they were shelters from trauma, places of dignity, and beginnings of healing. We coupled this response with repair kits and training, empowering families to rebuild and maintain their homes with confidence.
This intervention speaks to our agility in emergencies—and the importance of sustained donor support to meet people at their most vulnerable moments.
