Imagine the resilience it takes to start a business in the heart of an IDP camp. Now imagine doing it as a woman, often with nothing but courage and a dream.

In 2024, Juba Foundation, through the EU-Xaldoon Project, empowered 150 women entrepreneurs in the Dollow region. New and returning businesswomen received up to $1,000 in grants, alongside training in financial management, climate-smart business practices, and community engagement.

From small shops to vegetable stalls, butchers to livestock traders, these women became the backbone of a local economy—and the heartbeat of their communities. Their businesses didn’t just raise incomes; they built confidence, stability, and climate-resilient futures.

This story reflects our commitment to inclusive, sustainable livelihoods and our belief that empowered women change everything.
